Motor Head: JDM vs Eurocar

   It's been long a big debate to decide which one if better, Japanese car, known in US as JDM, or Eurocar, in this case, supercar often been mentioned. Ah yes, as a motorhead, I always been searching for the best sportscar. In this case, The Lamborghini Aventador LP700 is not my favourite car, instead of old, but muscular little BMW E30 M3. What I'm trying to say here, 700hp and tonnes of tech x semestinya bagi kepuasan kepada pemandu. It's the feeling that matter sebenarnya. Contohnya gearbox semi-auto dual clutch...bla...bla...bla memang bagus, cepat dan pantas. Tapi x semua orang boleh puas hati. Ya you can find speed with tech tapi kepuasan siapa tahu? itulah die datangnya dengan sesuatu yang manual. Ok diskusi after diskusi aku akhirnya dapat jugak idea untuk tulis mende ni. So apa lagi? kita check dulu which is better, but first, lemme tell bout eurocar first...

EUROCAR



Bila citer pasal Eurocar Ferrari is often appear in our speech. Why? Speed. Pure speed. But is this thing really 'speed'? hahaha. Ya, dan tidak. Ini cuma aku punya pandangan. Sebagai motorhead I'm kinda purist. For instance I don't admire this car. It took me sometimes to really love Ferrari. Yeah mostly will instantly admire but me, you've gotta tell me what this car is really is; the engine, the feature, the composition, the speed(lap time), and most importantly, driver's opinion bout her. As Meleis said, x kenal maka x cinta. Aku kena betul2 kenal kereta2 ni baru aku boleh admire. 


Then when talk bout Eurocar, beauty is unavoidable. Never once in my life I heard someone give bad comment bout Euro's look. Ok this is the real world. Let's take some fine example, in this case, the iconic Jaguar E-Type. Some dumbass dubbed this car as one of the greatest car ever. hahaha... Get a life dude. She's beautiful yes she is, but is she reliable? could she cook you a at least burger for my lunch? nah. Cannot right? One of the most beautiful car also one of the most unreliable car. Ever. If you wanna get idea what I'm talking about, google it.






Mahal. Sesiapa yang bawak Merc semestinya orang yang banyak duit. Yeah stereotaip yang tipikal terhadap kereta Eropah. But indeed. Yes they are. Ok if you're with me, please admire the car as sportscar. I mean, you don't need all those pig skinned heated seat or voice control bla bla bla technology bla bla bla to go fast. If that car is a human, those comfort is fat. More fat less speed. Everyone knows it. So meh kita amek contoh, Bugatti Veyron. Kereta paling laju, power dan MAHAL. Ok now lemme tell you the spec. W16 quad turbo, dual clutch 7 speed tranny with the most genius 4wd system man ever know, a chateau-like interior and 2 tonnes wet weight. Oh and that stoopid 1001hp. 1001hp, and 2 tonnes, I thought you talk about truck. Ah what? chateau-like interior? hahahaha don't gimme a fuck please, get a life. You don't need that much to go fast, or to get fun. 






Laju. Kereta paling laju di dunia. But does it really make sense? Kereta2 kat atas ni regarded as the fastest car in the world. Dan tonnes of tech inside it. Did I mentioned 'tech'? hahahahha... see what I'm trying to say? It's not the car and the driver that make up that speed, but computer. Then I've seen some Best Motoring video on youtube, and I got some conclusion, they sucks on corner over Japanese car. Those big number, engine, prestige, bla2 bla2 bla2 is just for show. Doesn't 100/100 to satisfy the driver. Anyway x semestinya aku benci kereta Eropah pn, cuma aku benci supercar. Cam BMW M5 ke, Merc C63 ke, itu yang lagi aku minat, Dan semestinya, kereta British cam TVR, Lotus etc. Sekarang time kereta Jepang pulak.

JDM





I'll be neutral, in contrast, Japanese car is never be like the European. Up here is the Japanese interpretation of 80's, in form of Nissan Skyline R30. You can see there there's no beauty, no masterpiece and even sexy. And as usual, what ever it takes, Nissan Skyline, I mean every Nissan Skyline really define what a Japanese car should be, and look alike. Ok Ok aku kalau dibagi citer pasal Skyline memang sangat2 lah anal. Ok. Basically JDM ni kalau aku tengok bende pertama ialah practicality. Then when ya talk bout practicality it's never be prestigius. Somekinda like AK-47, never be beautiful, but always been reliable. And it does, JDM is really reliable. It's what all Japanese car is all about.




Kat sini aku bagi kau enjin 2JZ. One of the most legendary engine ever hail from Japan. Just step away from RB26. But RB famed because of its performance on track, which 2JZ doesn't have. But on street, 2JZ is a real performer, capable of doing 1500hp with stock internal. Here you got the picture right? 1001hp in 8l 16 cylinder engine, over 1500hp in 3l 6 cylinder engine, both have turbo, but the smaller 6 price at a fraction of fraction of fraction..............(repeat 10 times more) of the 16 cylinder one. So Japs know how to civilized the 1000hp. And it's not the 2JZ alone can produce 1000hp, RB26 can do the same power as the 2JZ, 3S-GTE can do 800hp, SR20 750HP, F20C 720hp, 4G63 700hp, and many more. Just Google.






Kali pertama aku nampak kereta ni dalam citer Initial D. Reaksi: F! How dumb the author really was?! AE86? Jusst a piece of crap! ya masa tu aku bodoh lagi. Sangat bodo. Then cam bese x kenal maka x cinta, I'd finally understand the beauty of this speedy little 86. It's the feeling when you're driving it. If straight line for fast car, then corner is for fast man. You can really appreciate this car when you sweep through the corner. And it doesn't need all those smart 4wd and mega power to go fast, I mean fun. Just a bunch of the complexity of nuts and bolts. Proof is here. hahahahha... 





Then, JDM wasn't born to be a car as it left factory. When it leaves the plant, it just the beginning, ready to be tortured on the track, having surgery in garage, and exercise at dyno. For me European also made racing car for the road, but their numbers are limited, but Japs took it to another level. They made it at big number, and at low price. Which is somekind disturbing. And yet, their cult status is higher than their European counterpart. Proof, you don't see anything crazier than Evo and Impreza on track. Another thing is they made something in small package but do something big.





Then Japs comes in small package, but do a big number on dyno. Here's the real deal. Japs engines are reliable, so tuning potential always there. Anyway you want to go NA or Turbo, it's yours. The beauty of Japanese is it's really Asian, and realiable, so you can get power as long as you know what to do. 

CONCLUSION

For me, personally I would love the Japs. It's cheap, reliable, and can make power. Also the handling is beyond what the Euro can do. Then again the Euro is not for everyone anyway. It's for someone who have been chosen by the manufacturer itself and for the brat. Euro anyway find its home under the garage being in bed of roses and was made just for show. Really oppoesed to Japs. Where they are practical, can be drive at street with 500hp under the hood. And then they are functional, just the way I like it.......
